Welcome to International Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Investigations into Individual Differences in Learning.

– a founding member of TAGC –

InLab is a collaborative research group, dedicated to understanding the origins of differences in people’s learning. In our cross-cultural research, we combine different disciplines, including experimental and other areas of psychology, genetics, neuroscience, and education.

InLab is based in the Department of Psychology at Goldsmiths College, University of London, where Prof Yulia Kovas – director of InLab – leads a team of researchers. InLab also has many active associate members in other leading UK institutions, as well as China, Kyrgyzia, US, and Canada. InLab has a system of research residencies and placements for researchers and students.

InLab’s research aims to provide insights into the interplay between genetic, social and cultural factors and their effects on learning and cognition. The ultimate goal of this research is to contribute to individualised education and to promote positive development.

The core InLab research team meets once a week to discuss on going projects, to present, review and discuss cutting edge research. This core team typically consists of Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students; all of whom work collaboratively across all projects. Although this course team mostly consists of students from Goldsmiths, past members have included students from King’s College London and University College London.

A list of research publications can be found here.

If you feel that you would like to join InLab, please contact InLab’s manager, Robert Chapman at y.kovas@gold.ac.uk.
